DREDGER - ACTION WEEKLY IPC 1st Jan 1977 COVER - ERIC BRADBURY - 2000ad

Grail alert!   Just a rare as hens gold teeth ACTION COVER!!!! Drawn by Eric Bradbury who drew many of the iconic strips in both Action, Battle and 2000ad!

Before 2000ad there was the original bad boy comic... ACTION ! ACTION weekly became so notorious it was debated in the UK Parliament, and efforts were made to ban it. The original UK Punk Rock comic!

This stupendously rare comic cover showcases Dredger, the Dirty Harry style cop who was always getting himself into violent scrapes with cartels and gangs. He survived the demise of Action comic, and transitioned to BATTLE ACTION in 1978.

Below the main image is some smaller Stats advertising the other stars, Hellman of Hammerforce ( a story told from a disgruntled Panzer offiver's point of view, a  la 'the Iron Cross ) and SPINBALL a gladitorial death match series based on the film Death Race 2000 )...and this was aimed at young kids!!! Glorious!!!

Art is smooth illustration card, 34 X 43cm. in overall good condtion. Creasing to the corners, but art is fine. Cover date 1st January 1977
